In support of the Fiordland community the Fiordland Regional Fund is available for those who care about this local community and wish to contribute to making a significant impact on the future vitality and resiliency of this region.

Generously receiving its first donation in 2024 from a Te Anau couple, the Fiordland Regional Fund is a locally managed contestable fund which will continue to build in value over time through donations and bequeaths, providing ongoing support to the community.

The Fiordland community is unique and resourceful due to its isolated nature and environment, with a strong sense of independence and determination.

This fund will provide an ongoing and sustainable source of funding for empowerment and self sufficiency.  Rather than providing temporary solutions, we focus on supporting individuals, community groups and organisations with the tools, knowledge and resources they need to thrive independently.

What are the key focus areas of the Fiordland Regional Fund?

  1. Education and Youth: Education is the cornerstone of progress. Investing in programmes geared towards youth development and access to opportunities, we can empower our youth to reach their full potential.
  2. Health and Wellbeing: A healthy community is a thriving community. Building resilience and support across our diverse communities creates a strong scaffolding for a healthy future.
  3. Community and Economic Development: Collaboration, inclusivity, and support are the foundation of strong communities. Your contribution will help develop infrastructure, promote social cohesion, sustainability and resilience.
  4. Conservation and Environment: Vital for health, cultural heritage, biodiversity and climate resilience, along with protecting the economic sustainability of the drivers of prosperity in Fiordland.

How do I help grow this fund?

Donating to this locally managed Fiordland Endowment Fund will ensure your contribution stays local and will help empower this community as required year after year.  The ongoing income from the combined donations is distributed annually to causes that are important as determined locally.
